That’s not true when you are talking about an (affluent) white person buying in a minority neighborhood. They won’t be using the black owned barbers or salons (in most cases) and so on, and often they’ll want different services which can move in and pay more rent. Having people with different interests does affect the viability of businesses in the area. It doesn’t change the affordability in this case but it can change the neighbourhood dynamics.
