I’ve heard them talk and I think the article might be simplifying the project a little. They talked about the majority of people having an easier life with some extra money including the freedom to leave a terrible job (basically a low-level FOF) and find a new one. When you don’t have a great job being able to switch and take the time to interview for a new one can be a matter of being able to pay a week’s rent and having that cash is then a kind of freedom. Being poor involves often involves few options, money creates some options.
