I wish more of this analysis made it into the media versus all of the articles about how Finnish schools are so great. They are great, but the rate of child poverty in Finland is negligible and each school child gets a large, nutritious, hot meal at lunch time so even the poorest children can get a square meal day. If we tried to emulate that aspect of Finnish education we might see similar improvements in kid’s learning outcomes.
